Ch Pixie Dell Epicure was described by Mildred Nicoll in the 1985-86 ASSA Handbook as a "moderate dog, very hard to fault." "Boots" was a red sable, whelped May 21, 1964. He had an excellent show career (1965 - 71) with 84 Best of Breed wins, 26 group placings, and two Best in Show wins. He was the sire of 9 Champions, just missing ROM status. His Champion offspring included Ch Valdawn's Krackerjack, Ch Pixie Dell Epigram, Ch Elite Elouise o'the Glenn and Ch Pixie Dell Episode, and he also sired the non-Champion Birch Hollow The Matinee Idol, sire of ASSA BB Ch Birch Hollow the Choir Boy.
Mildred states that "He had excellent angulation front and back which allowed him to cover ground easily in his far-reaching gait and this, together with his showmanship, made him a consistent winner in the Working Group. He was BOB 3 years in a row at Westminster to become only the second Sheltie to accomplish this feat." He lived to 18 years of age.
Ch Pixie Dell Epicure was line CHE Part I (Peabody Pan line) which is apparently no longer producing Champions, though it accounted for about a third of the Champions at the time the first ASSA Handbook was published. His bitch line puts him in Family 2 Part III.
