Ch Pixie Dell Little Gamin

History

Ch Pixie Dell Little Gamin was a sable dog, bred by Marie and Arthur Miller, by Ch Cock o'the North o'Page's Hill out of Ch Pixie Dell Wee Wendy. He was whelped February 4, 1944, and won the ASSA National Specialty in 1945. He is Line CHE Part IIa and Family 2 Part III. He appears behind a number of later ASSA BB winners as well as several ROM Shelties, including Ch Brandell's Break-A-Way II ROM.

According to the Pixie Dell article in the 1985-86 ASSA Handbook, Gamin was 14 3/4 inches with heavy bone, sound movement and was a real showman. He finished at eight months in five successive shows from the puppy class, racking up 3 BOB and a Working Group II along the way. By his first birthday, he had placed in 6 Working Groups. Yet this was a dog from a line noted not for puppy flyers (though quality was recognisable early) but for dogs that held their quality well into old age, and Gamin followed this pattern. Shown in a period with few shows, he managed to earn 69 Best of Breeds and 37 Working group placements, including 4 firsts.
