History of Ch Sea Isle Serenade ROM
Ch Sea Isle Serenade ROM was a sable and white dog, bred by Sea Isle from Ch Nashcrest Golden Note ROM ex Note's own daughter, Ch Sea Isle Serenata, and whelped March 22, 1956. He was sold as a pet (I understand because of size) at 7 weeks of age, but when he matured in size and of outstanding quality the ladies of Sea Isle arranged to show him to his title. He was never campaigned heavily, but earned his Championship easily and was a Group winner. He sired 29 Champions, and in addition sired 2 non-Champion ROM bitches and had another Champion son (Ch Malpsh the Duke of Erle) who sired 9 Champions plus a non-Champion ROM. The majority of Champion Shelties today trace to this dog on the top lines of their pedigrees. In fact, he heads three distinct modern lines: one through Ch Diamond's Redbud to Ch Chenterra Thunderation ROM to the Macdega ROM line, and the other two through his grandson Fair Play of Sea Isle ROM to the Peter and Sportin' Life lines. Of the other two important lines, one comes through Serenade's half brother, Ch Lingard Sealect Bruce ROM, and the other through his great-uncle, Ch Timberidge Temptation ROM. Serenade is in Line CHE Part IId and Family 4.
